The Man from the Tahue

 

Sam Ojeda is a Yoreme from the Tahue Clan. The word tahue in yoremnoki, the language of the Yoreme, means hawk. The Yoreme Nation is located in the Northwest of Mexico.

 

Sam is a man who has deep respect and love for nature and the Native American way of life. He is a teacher, a translator, a storyteller, a ceremonialist, a pow-wow drummer and singer, a flute player, a guitar player, a traditional dancer, a sweat lodge helper and fire keeper, a drum maker, and an artisan.

 

Sam's artwork has the honour of being displayed in Native exhibits in Western Europe, and his one-man crafts company, TA'HO Runs-on-Fire, continues to flourish as his hand-made objects continue to be sought the world-over by healers and medicine helpers.

 

Samuel continues to participate in conferences, workshops, sharings, and talks on Native American issues, giving his unconditional support to the people who promote the well-being of our beloved Mother Earth through his art and prayer.

 

Sam has given talks and presentations on the indigenous way of life that evoke healing and remembrance.

L’homme du clan des Tahue

 

Sam est un Yoreme du Clan des Tahue. Le mot Tahue en yoremnoki, la langue des Yoreme, veut dire faucon. La nation des Yoreme est situee au Nord Ouest du Mexique.

 

Sam est un homme qui ressent un profond respect et amour pour la nature et les traditions amérindiennes. Il est enseignant, traducteur, conteur, guide cérémonial, chanteur de pow-wow, flûtiste, guitariste, danseur traditionnel autochtone, assistant de tente de sudation et gardien de feu sacré, fabricant de tambours et artisan. L'artisanat fait à la main par Sam est exposé dans les foires et son entreprise de métiers d’art, TA'HO Runs-on-Fire, continue de prospérer puisque ses objets faits main sont sollicités par les guérisseurs traditionnels.

 

Sam continue à participer à des conférences, des discours et des ateliers sur les questions amérindiennes dans la société moderne. Sam donne, à travers son art et ses prières, son soutien et son appui absolu aux gens qui font la promotion du bien-être de notre Terre-Mère.

 

Sam a donné plusieurs conférences et présentations sur la façon de vivre autochtone qui évoque la guérison et le souvenir.
